How to run projects and shared boards in Orbit

How do I set up a project in Orbit?

1. 1Open Tasks and switch to the Projects tab. Create a project and give it a name.
2. 2Add tasks to the board. New items land in Inbox; drag them to Next when they are up, Someday when they can wait, Done when finished. A list view exists when a board is the wrong shape.
3. 3Open the Share popover to choose how visible the project is: private, a read-only public board link, guest edit links, or an intake form. Each is independent.
4. 4Subscribe to the project if you want a notification when someone else moves or adds a task. You are never notified about your own actions.
5. 5Check the Activity view when you come back after a few days. It is the fastest way to see what changed and who changed it.

How does guest editing work without accounts?

When to use which sharing mode

• Read-only board: status visibility for a client or stakeholder who should watch but not touch.
• Guest links: a client or contractor who actually collaborates. They edit, you keep control, no seat needed.
• Intake form: requests from a group, like a team or community, that should not see the whole board at all.
• Custom domain: on any paid plan, a published board can be served from your own domain, so the link a client bookmarks is yours.
