Projects in Orbit are boards that live next to your tasks: Inbox, Next, Someday, Done. The difference from a standalone project tool is sharing. You can publish a read-only board, hand a client a guest link that lets them edit without creating an account, or accept requests through a public intake form.
Each guest gets their own link. Opening it shows the live board, asks for their name once, and from then on everything they do is attributed to them. Guests can add tasks, edit titles and notes and due dates, drag cards between columns, and comment. They cannot delete anything.
Because every guest has a separate link, offboarding is one click: revoke that link and that person is out, without touching anyone else. The board updates live for guests, so two people can work the same board at the same time.
The public intake form is the third door. Anyone with the link can submit a request with their name and email, and it lands in the project Inbox with a note about who sent it. You get a notification, and their request is already a task.
Yes. Guest links let a client open the live board, identify by name, and add, edit, drag, and comment on tasks with no Orbit account and no paid seat. Deleting is reserved for you, and each guest link can be revoked individually.
Inbox, Next, Someday, and Done. New and submitted tasks land in Inbox, and you drag from there. There is also a list view and an activity feed per project.
Subscribe to the project. You get a bell notification when someone else adds, moves, or completes a task, and never for your own actions. Guest activity shows the guest name.
A public form tied to one project. Anyone with the link submits a request with their name, email, and details, and it appears as a task in the project Inbox with the submitter noted, plus a notification to you.
On any paid plan, yes. Connect a custom domain and choose a published project board as one of the things it serves. Existing shared links keep working either way.
