How to create a form in Orbit

Forms in Orbit turn visitors into contacts. Build a form once and use it three ways: on its own link, embedded in a landing page, or as a modal. Every submission becomes a contact with the answers on its timeline, and can trigger an automation. The free plan includes three forms.

How do I build a form in Orbit?

  1. 1Open Forms and click New form. Choose Form (a quiz is the other mode). Starters exist for the common cases: contact, lead capture, feedback, and more.
  2. 2Add and arrange your fields. Keep it short: name, email, and one qualifying question outperform a long interrogation.
  3. 3Set the thank-you behavior: show a success message or redirect to a page you choose.
  4. 4Publish. The form gets its own link you can send anywhere, and it appears in the page builder so you can embed it in any landing page.
  5. 5Optional but recommended: attach an automation so submissions get an instant follow-up. See form automations.

Where can I use an Orbit form?

Three places. Standalone: every published form has its own link, good for an email signature, a social bio, or a QR code. Embedded: drop the form into any Orbit landing page from the page builder, where it inherits the page style so it looks native. Modal: pop the form over a page instead of placing it inline.

One thing to know: a form is shared, not copied. If the same form is embedded on three pages and you edit a field, all three pages change. That is usually what you want, but it is worth knowing before you edit a live form.

Spam protection is built in. Forms ship with a honeypot and rate limiting, so bot submissions are dropped quietly without you configuring anything.

Frequently asked questions

How many forms are free in Orbit?+

The free plan includes three forms, and quizzes count toward the same three. Submissions and the contacts they create are not capped by the form limit.

Do form submissions become contacts automatically?+

Yes. Every submission creates or updates a contact, with the answers recorded on the contact timeline. You can also have submissions create a deal in a pipeline.

Can I edit a form that is already embedded on pages?+

Yes, but the form is shared. Editing it changes every page that embeds it at once. If you need a variation for one page, duplicate the form and embed the copy.

Does Orbit stop spam form submissions?+

Yes. Forms include a honeypot field and rate limiting out of the box. Bot submissions are silently discarded, so your contact list stays clean without a captcha annoying real people.

Can Hiro build a form for me?+

Yes. Ask Hiro in chat for the form you need, list the fields, and it creates the form ready to publish or embed. It can build a whole landing page around it too.
